MOLD
RDFF uses three steps to ensure the removal and spread of mold and its return:
Preparation
Containment and removal of dangerous materials
Treatment and clearance testing (done by an independent company)
Preparation starts with the donning of personal protective equipment designed to minimize the possibility of unhealthy exposure to potentially deadly mold. Next, barriers are set up so that so that the affected areas do not spread mold while work is in progress. This includes setting up negative air so that contaminants are trapped and sent outside the building. Next, mold contaminated building materials are removed. Finally, the mold contaminated area is sealed off to prevent spores from migrating to other areas and an air scrubber is left in place for a minimum of three days.
